In everyone's life there are a number of people that touch our hearts and imaginations in a variety of ways. I am going to attempt to form a list of mine and give as much information as I can on each person. Please be patient with me as I have never been big on asking people about their history. It just never dawned on me and then one day they die and I have no more chances to ask.





MARJORIE WHITE



I met Marjorie when I was 13. I was a ward of the State of Texas and she was a foster parent. I lived with her for 2 years. One while I spent most of my time at Salesmanship's Girls Camp and one after I got out. She had been raised in a Catholic Orphanage. During WW2, she was given a dead nun's teaching certificate when she was 15 so she could help teach the high school students. That is when she decided teaching was for her. When I met her she was a professor for Mountain View College in Dallas, Tx.



She not only took in children for the state but also for people who rented from her. She owned and ran 31 homes for low income people. When they would have problems raising their children she would let them move in with her to help out.



She was a very strong and intelligent person. I still don't know why but she believed in me more than almost anyone in my life ever has, before or after. We both got busy and were not able to keep in touch like I would like. I tried to call her last November and discovered that she had died in September. I didn't realize how much it would hurt to know she was gone. I miss her dreadfully. I know her part of the world is a bit colder and darker for her loss.
